Completed 4/3/23. 0.75 miles. 64 degrees; partly sunny and dry.
Why start my 150+ mile journey at this tiny community metropark? Longest journey, single step, etc. My goal is to hike every marked trail in every Franklin County Metropark so why would I not start by tackling a park with one short trail?
My wife Julie and I took the opportunity to get outdoors on a beautiful, unusually warm early spring afternoon. I was focused on Julie-Time so I wasn’t thinking about documenting the trip with photographs; I’ll returned to Homestead later and snap a few pictures to make this entry more visually stimulating.
The multi-purpose (paved) trail welcomes walkers, cyclists, skaters, strollers, wagons, you name it. I expected the park and the trail would be packed on a pleasant in early April, when the weather is as likely to be frosty and gloomy as it is sunny and warm, so we were pleasantly surprised that we shared the path mostly with folks on foot.
